Where to shelter
DO
- Go to the basement or storm shelter
- Interior room on lowest floor (bathroom, closet)
- Get under sturdy furniture
- Cover your head and neck with arms, helmet or blanket
- Bring pets and emergency kit
DON'T
- Don't open windows to "equalize pressure"
- Don't shelter under overpasses
- Don't try to outrun a tornado in a car
- Don't stay in a mobile home
- Don't go outside until the warning is cancelled
